The site was formerly an ambulance station but became surplus to requirements when the service was relocated to the main hospital in Haslemere. The site is within walking distance of the centre of Haslemere but is on a busy main road and is shallow in depth. The design solution was to construct two terraces of four town houses with the car parking in a secure court in the centre of the site. This maximised the living space in the houses and reduced the car parking to a single access from the busy main road where sight lines were a limiting factor.
